My love for Greece stems from my sisters' willingness to pack their bags and move there to make a new life. For years after they left, I puzzled over the notion of moving halfway around the world, and then I visited and found out why. Greece moves at a calmer pace, the wisdom of ages having discovered that there's really no need to hurry through life. With my sisters, I spent much time on their home island of Corfu and rambled about the country to see the sights. I even learned a little of the language along the way.

Since my decade-old destination guide to Corfu turned out to be so popular in the last version of this website, I've moved it to its own site, www.insidecorfu.com, where my sister Sally and I share information, images, and tales of the greenest of the Greek isles.
